  Who are you looking for?

  do you find yourself scanning the posts of new ones here hoping in the back of your mind that it's a friend or relative who has finally "seen the light"?.

  there are several people i am always watching for.... my best friend from high school, the only friend i was allowed to have since she was the only girl my age in the kh.

  and my brothers... extremely bright and intelligent guys, but very wrapped up in gaining my fathers and the congregations approval.

  The End is coming Pretty Soon, Folks

  i have been inactive from jws since 2003. i don't post here very much -- do more reading than posting.

  but i just had to tell y'all that i got a one-page tract this evening which is an invitation to attend the deliverance at hand convention.. yes...the end is coming pretty soon because never before in jw history has an invitation or tract been distributed to a city not designated a convention city.. the end is also coming pretty soon because i was told at the convention there will be a lot of talks about noah and what he faced.. in addition, the end is very near because later on this year there will be several announcements coming from the society.

  I heard and I don't know if this is true, but that the JW's had a rumor going around that when Pope John Paul was alive they said when the last Pope died the world would end? Interesting theory because why would their fate rest on someone who they view as someone that is doing satans work? Anyway beloved Pope John Paul has passed and the Vatican has seated a new pope and the world is still spinning and we are all still here.

  I was once asked by an elder who was trying his best to get me to study and get baptized, he told me that if I was not baptized then I wouldn't make it to the new order, I told him, if making it to the new order means I have to spend eternity with all you guys NO THANKS

  Badges for Conventions

  each year name badges are handed out at the kingdom halls for those attending the upcoming district convention.

  i have always refused to wear one but this was not a major issue as i would say only about 50% wore them anyway.

  however i noticed that as the years went by more and more 'brothers' were wearing them including during the lunch break in the city centre concerned.

  Too Dang HOT!!

  i just stepped out into my back yard and thought i was going to melt.

  i was going to fill up the inflatable pool for my son, but by the time it gets filled up, the water will be about 90 and not worth the bother.

  i'm sure that other california people can relate to this.

  Courage

  i've read posts from many of you on this board, some still have to hide the fact that they have left the org, some have really hard time with family and people who were friends.

  i was not baptized, i never believed in the truth and fought my parents till i left home at 17. i think it was difficult for me, but i didn't have a period of guilt or fear of being destroyed by jehovah, instead i felt like the whole world was open to me, no more hiding, can finally be myself.. i know that a lot of people here fought with leaving and still do, its a huge emotional mess, i think it took tremendous courage for many of you to even get here, to this website.

  i just wanted to say to all of you good luck and welcome to the rest of your life.

  the latest release, live with jehovah's day in mind, states on page 107:a christian who loves kindness will certianly not exploit his fellow worshippers.

  for example, he realises that it would be neither proper nor kind to start a business or promote an investment scheme that targets felllow believers as the main customers.

  it would display greed, which christians are warned against, to plan on making money hastily by exploitng fellow christians.

  Every Meeting is fresh in my mind.....

  it's been two years since my da and yet with over a 28 year period of meetings i can still see every meeting in my mind.

  everyone sitting in their same seats, the same ones throwing up their hands to answer, the same elders standing in the same place after the meetings to talk to the same people.

  it begins to seem sureal.

  Broken Engagement
